Call a Cab

A newly installed computer system which receives regular updates is in operation in our office. This enables us to provide you with a better service when you call for your cab.

When the operator answers the phone to you, the computer recognises this using a caller line identifaction (CLI) system. The CLI stores certain information, such as names and addresses in the computer’s memory. This means that everytime you call, so long as the information has been initially entered correctly, the computer will recognise either your address should you ring from a land line, or your name should you call from your mobile. If you are using your mobile to order a cab, why not try Texting for your Taxi

This system has been introduced to hopefully cut down on the amount of hoax calls we receive each year, and therefore any hoax taxis being sent to your address.

Once your taxi has been ordered it is sent through the computer and the radio to a datahead inside the taxi. This is a little computer screen in the car which will display all the relevant information of your booking for the driver to see. When a driver is working using the datahead system we are able to watch them move round, through GPS technology, on a map. This will let us track a vehicle from it’s start point until it picks you up. This will also let us watch the cars to send the nearest car to you as possible, therefore providing you with a more efficient service.
